New Plans For Edinburgh Venue Announced By Firm Behind O2 Arena

A packed music performance inside a venue The firm behind the O2 Arena in London has announced plans for a “world‑class” indoor venue to be built in Edinburgh.

AEG Europe is seeking planning approval for an 8500‑capacity indoor arena at Edinburgh Park for live music and entertainment, following developer Parabola’s agreement to sell the site to AEG.

Visitors to the venue will be able to avail themselves of the unrivalled public transport and motorway access, including two tram stops within an easy walk, two mainline stations, plentiful bus connections and excellent motorway links, the site in west Edinburgh is extremely well positioned to become home to the new live entertainment venue.

The preliminary application has been posted on the Edinburgh council website. Public consultations are being held on December 4th and January 9th from 3pm‑7pm at 1 New Park Square.

If approved, work is expected to begin in early 2025 with the first live events taking place in 2027.
