Minor Fire at Spurs Stadium
Reports of a fire at Tottenham Hotspur have been greatly exaggerated, according to the club.
Following a number of reports, which Spurs have branded inaccurate and sensationalist, they have confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is back to operations as normal following the break out of a small fire in one of their kitchens. It is reported to have been caused by an air compressor, in the morning of Thursday, 2nd September.
In a statement, the club have said: “The fire was contained to a very small area and quickly put out with a fire extinguisher by the first person on the scene.”
They continued: “The building was briefly evacuated as per standard safety procedures following the triggering of the fire alarm system, while a London Fire Brigade crew attended the stadium and carried out a safety inspection before departing the scene.”
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was recently named amongst the winners of the prestigious Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) London Awards 2021.
