Derek Wilson Reappointed As Chair At The SGSA

A business handshake in an office The Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA) have announced that Derek Wilson has been reappointed to a second term as their Chair.

With over 30 years as a specialist sports architect, Derek’s extensive and invaluable experience in stadium design and Olympics and Paralympics forged his special interests in safety, accessibility and major events. As such, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the organisation. The SGSA are delighted to know he will continue to lead the smooth running and effectiveness of their Board.



Derek, Wilson, Chair of The Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA) Commenting on his reappointment, Derek Wilson, SGSA chair said: “I am extremely pleased to receive confirmation from the Secretary of State for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport of my second term as Chair of the SGSA.

“As I embark on my second term as Chair, I am reminded of the achievements we have accomplished over the past three years, reaffirming our commitment and mission to keep sports grounds safe for all.

“Over the next three years I look forward to continuing to lead with dedication and a commitment to the excellence of the SGSA and the sports grounds safety industry as a whole.”
